The Emergency Department at Wallace Thomson Hospital is a ten bed unit which provides a broad range of care for everything from the minor emergencies such as fevers or lacerations to cardiac arrests and major trauma.
The physicians and all of the nursing staff are BLS, ACLS and PALS certified and ready to provide immediate care 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
Sometimes patients require specialized care, when that is necessary we have medical, surgical, pediatric, orthopedic and OB/GYN specialists available for consultation. If it is determined that the patient needs care that we can not provide we will stabilize the patient and make arrangements to transfer to the most appropriate setting for the patients needs. With emergency ground or air transport available the patient will receive no delay in specialized care.
